River Rafting in Punakha Valley

As Himalayan country Bhutan has a many beautiful rivers ideal for water sports. The most popular rivers for rafting are Mochu and Phochu in Punakha. Rafting can also be done in Pangbang, near Manass National park area, Drangme Chhu and Mo Chu rivers. Rafting can be done through the year. 

TRIP-HIGHLIGHTS

The trip is set in west Bhutan, visiting the most prime locations – Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha. You will explore the majestic fortresses, famous monasteries, unique textiles, and handicrafts and learn about the fun-loving Bhutanese people. The highlight of the trip will be rafting in Punakha on the male and female rivers with class II and IV rapids. What’s more, the drive through the villages and crossing the suspension bridge to Samdingkha put-in area, is a lovely start to the adventure.

 Itinerary
Day1. Arrive Paro Proceed to Capital of Bhutan(Thimphu) for 1hrs 30mins Drive
Sightseeing In Thimphu.

Day2. Thimphu to Puankha for 2hrs 30mins drive
photo stop at Dochula pass, If weather permit you can see the himalayan ranges of Bhutan.
and visit  Punakha Dzong, later hike to chime lhakhang fertility temple for 20-30mins

Day3. Punakha -sightseeing
Morning hike to Khamsum yueling Namgyal stupa for 40mins and later start your rafting for 1 hrs

Day4. Punakha – Paro (3hrs 30mins drive)
Visit -Paro Dzong, National museum, Dungtse temple and later oldest temple Kyichu lhakhang

Day5. Day hike to tiger’s nest temple for (4-5hrs) Afternoon visit Bhutanese farm house trying wearing our Bhutanese traditional dress called gho & kira also test local wine Ara and later evening free in paro town.
